Dr. Fam is considered a national expert on site remediation issues. He is a co-author of “In-Situ Treatment Technology” (Lewis Publishers, 1996), which is intended as an undergraduate text for state of the art remedial technologies.
Dr. Fam serves as a technical advisor, and project manager on assignments primarily related to site remediation and facility engineering. Dr. Fam offers a diversified background in the environmental field including expertise in hazardous waste site remediation, analytical chemistry, site investigation, industrial waste treatment and energy efficiency. His experience and expertise has focused on the evaluation, design, development, and implementation of conventional and innovative in situ and on-site technologies for remediation of contaminated sites. Dr. Fam is considered a leader within the environmental consulting industry in enhanced bioremediation, and natural attenuation.
Dr. Fam has been involved in some the first and largest full-scale enhanced anaerobic (reductive) dechlorination system designs and installations in the world. He is also experienced in conducting laboratory and pilot-scale feasibility studies to evaluate the applicability of conventional and emerging technologies. His expertise spans the best management strategies for controlling industrial runoff as well as urban stormwater runoff as well as work on industrial energy efficiency. His strong analytical chemistry and biochemistry background in GC, GC/MS, extraction, and separation techniques provides him with unique capabilities to interpret and analyze chemical data for engineering applications.
